Patricia Ling

Patricia is a Director and Principal of Garden
House Solicitors. She is an expert in the area
of personal injury law and has been awarded special
recognition from the Law Society for her expertise
in that area of law. Accreditation by the Law Society
means that she has skill, knowledge and experience
in this major area of law and has been thoroughly
tested and verified by the Law Society. Her accomplishment
has been recognised by the Law Society through
her appointment to the Law Society’s Personal
Injury Panel.
Patricia is also a member of The Association
of personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and the College
of Personal Injury Law (CPIL) and attends regular
courses provided by these organisations to keep
up to date with the law in this specialist area.
Having acquired a wealth of experience working
in the legal profession for over 20 years, Patricia
established Garden House Solicitors in 2006,
creating an energetic, amicable and professional
team of legal advisors.
Patricia has extensive experience in all areas
of law offered by Garden House Solicitors. She
is highly experienced in acting for clients that
have suffered catastrophic injuries, including
brain injuries, paralysis, multiple traumatic
injuries, occupational disease and fatal injuries.
Patricia also represents the families of victims
of fatal road collisions at the Coroner’s
inquest.

Kevin Timms

Kevin joined the firm in February 2010 as a paralegal
and started his training contract in September
2010 under the supervision of Patricia Ling, Principal
Solicitor.
Kevin has been representing Garden House Solcitors
on national television (BBC, Sky News etc ) and
in the national press (Daily Telegraph etc )
relating to the PIP

Implants cases currently in the news 2011/12.
Kevin has experience in all areas of law in
which the firm practices. At present, Kevin is
dealing with instructions received in the following
areas:
• Personal Injury Claims;
•
Product Liability Claims;
Group Action (PIP breast implant litigation,
DePuy and other metal on metal hip implant litigation)
•
Property, Landlord & Tenant and Nuisance
Disputes;
•
Employment Disputes; and
•
Commercial & Civil Disputes.
Kevin is at the forefront of the high profile
Poly Implant Prothese (“PIP”) breast
implant cases. He has also received numerous
instructions in respect of the DePuy ASR litigation
from across the country.
He has a particular interest in product liability
and contractual disputes (whether commercial,
consumer, property or otherwise) and ensures
that each client receives the highest standards
of client care.
He completed his Law Degree with Honours at
the Anglia Ruskin University and studied the
Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School.
Prior to joining Garden House Solicitors, Kevin
worked as a litigation paralegal with a firm
in Essex. He has also worked on a pro-bono basis
with various voluntary and charitable organisations.
Kevin is an active member of Thundersley Brass
Band and is a Governor at the William de Ferrers
School. He enjoys travelling, socialising, exercising

Dave Koon Koon

Dave graduated from the University of Luton with
an Honours degree in Law and went on to study Legal
Practice at the University of Westminster.
Dave joined Garden House Solicitors as a trainee
solicitor in January 2007 and having successfully
completed his training qualified as a solicitor
in March 2009.
Dave is experienced in working in all areas
of law offered by the firm, however he specialises
in personal injury law and dispute resolution.
Dave’s caseload covers a broad spectrum
of high value personal injury claims arising
from road traffic accidents; accidents in the
workplace and slipping and tripping cases.
Dave has particular expertise in dealing with
infant claimants and victims of dog attacks.
Dave is also experienced in dealing with commercial
and contractual disputes.
Dave is an active supporter of the Road Victims
Trust.
In his spare time Dave enjoys cooking and
is an accomplished chef.

Julie Retallick

Julie joined the firm in July 2011 and she provides support to Patricia
Ling, the Principal Solicitor. Julie is line manager to the administrative
staff and also has her own caseload handling claims for the victims
of road traffic accidents. Julie has a long and distinguished career
in the legal profession and is a pivotal member of the team.
Julie enjoys spending time with her family,
particularly her two grandsons; she is also
interested in keeping fit.

Sharon Brown

Sharon is an expert in law relating to the elderly
and specialises in the preparation of Wills and
Lasting Powers of Attorney. She also assists clients
with Court of Protection matters (including applications
for deputy orders) and administration of estates.
Sharon is a member of the Alzheimer’s
Society, the Parkinson’s Society and
Action on Elder Abuse. She is also an associate
professional member of Solicitors for the Elderly,
an independent, national organisation of lawyers
who provide specialist legal advice for older
and vulnerable people, their families and carers.
Most of Sharon’s spare time is taken
up exercising and training her 4 year old rescue
dog, Kai, but she also enjoys dancing, reading,
gardening and the theatre.

Nidhi Chopra

Nidhi joined the
firm in September 2008. She practises all aspects
of personal injury law, general litigation, dispute
resolution, employment law and wills and probate.
Nidhi completed her Law Degree with Honours
at the University of Hertfordshire and went
on to study Legal Practice at Inns of Court
School of Law. Prior to joining Garden House
Solicitors, Nidhi embarked on various pro-bono
activities including working for the Citizens’ Advice
Bureau and the ICSL Pro Bono Advice Clinic.
At Inns of Court School of Law Nidhi was awarded
Prize Winner of the Sibel Dedezade Prize for
her outstanding work on the Pro Bono Unit.
Nidhi speaks fluent Hindi and Punjabi. Nidhi
enjoys music, travelling and socialising.

Amanda joined the firm in July 2010 after completing her Secretarial and Business

Andrew Miller

Andrew is a graduate from the University of Nottingham
where he gained a First Class Degree in French
and Spanish. He has worked for Garden House Solicitors
since 2006 on an ad hoc basis assisting with International
disputes. In particular he has translated complex
legal arguments to both administrators of international
companies in liquidation and insurance companies.
He has been required to translate sophisticated
legal terminology and convey arguments with accuracy
style and panache.
Andrew is currently translating the European
equivalent of Freedom of Information Act requests
from medical device regulators in other jurisdictions.
Andrew is also responsible for setting up
and maintaining the firm’s archiving
system.

Silvy Zenopian

Silvy joined the
firm in March 2011 and provides secretarial support
to the Solicitors. She is currently completing
her Legal Executive Training with the Institute
of Legal Executives. Silvy has a Philosophy and
Business Management degree and has over 8 years
legal secretarial experience.
Silvy enjoys taking long walks with her beloved
beagle puppy Pippa; she also enjoys socialising
with friends and travelling.

Ruth Allen

Ruth is the Practice Manager at Garden House Solicitors
and her position entails managing the accounts
dealing with salaries, accounting queries,
cash flow, monthly
reports and anything else that comes her way.
Ruth is a member of The Institute of Legal
Cashiers and Administrators and has worked
for Garden House Solicitors since the firm
was established in April 2006.
Ruth’s spare time is spent with the
love of her life, Macca, her retired greyhound
and her other interests and hobbies include
supporting Watford Football Club, Cooking,
Reading, Theatre and catching up with family
and friends.
